Our sampleA ball is dropped from 20 m. Ignore air resistance, and take g = 10 m/s². How fast is it moving as it lands?
Tap an answer to see the explanation.
Show the answerThe answer
The answer is C: 20 m/s.
- A) Wrong. 10 m/s is the speed after a drop of only 5 m: v² = 2 × 10 × 5 = 100.
- B) Wrong. This is the common mistake: it forgets the 2 in v² = 2gh. √(10 × 20) is about 14.
- C) Right. Potential energy becomes kinetic energy: mgh = ½mv². The mass cancels, so v² = 2gh = 2 × 10 × 20 = 400, and v = 20 m/s.
- D) Wrong. 40 m/s is twice the right answer. v² = 400, so v = √400 = 20.
- E) Wrong. 200 m/s skips the square root. 200 is gh, not v.

When do applications open?
Not published yet. Last year (2026): Applications opened on 1 November 2025 and closed on 31 July 2026. Exam sessions ran from January to August 2026. You had to apply two weeks before your exam date. Check the faculty's General Medicine page for the new dates.
How do I apply to Palacký, step by step?
You apply yourself: we are not an agent or a representative, and we do not apply for you.
- Apply online on the faculty's General Medicine page, and pay the fee.
- Meet the English rule: see what it asks. Send a certificate or proof, or take the university's own test.
- Study the topic list and the sample tests for your subjects.
- Sit the exam, online or in person.
- Enrol, and pay the tuition: see the tuition.
How many questions, and how long is it?
Not on the faculty pages we checked. The faculty's pages give no question count or time limit either. Ask the faculty. You could write: "How many questions are in each paper, and how long is each?"
Does anyone have past papers?
There are official sample tests in five subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, maths and English. They are linked with the facts at the end of this page. They are samples, not past papers. We do not have past papers, and we do not sell them.
Do I need an English certificate?
You need an English certificate: Cambridge FCE or higher, IELTS 6 or higher, or TOEFL 87 or higher, or an accepted equivalent. Did you study in English at school or university? Send proof: the faculty says this makes you exempt.
How many students get in?
The faculty expects to admit about 80 students. This is an estimate.
What does it cost?
- To apply: EUR 80 per application, paid online. You do not get it back.
- Tuition: EUR 12,500 a year.

Every line comes from the school's own pages. The link under each one shows where.
- The exam
A written test in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics: you choose physics or maths. You can sit it online or in person, in Olomouc or Tel Aviv. The faculty says the level matches British school exams (GCE).

Checked 5 September 2026.
- What it tests
The faculty publishes a topic list and recommended books for each subject. Biology has 16 topics, from the cell and genetics to the human body, stem cells, disease and ecology.
Chemistry covers general, inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry and basic calculations. Physics has topic blocks, from units and mechanics to electricity, optics and atoms. Maths has a book list but no topic list. Every subject expects basic maths and unit conversions. There are official sample tests in five subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, maths and English. In the sample tests, each question has 4 or 5 options, and you pick one.
