Czech Medicine Exam Dates 2027

In short. For a September 2027 start, Palacký applications open first, on 1 November 2026. Masaryk's online application opens on 2 January 2027. Charles First Faculty's deadline is 30 April 2027, much earlier than last year. Masaryk and Palacký close on 31 July 2027. But at both, you must apply about two weeks before your exam date.

1. Charles: last cycle, applications opened on 1 December 2025.
2. Palacký: the faculty will post its 2027 dates and places by the end of 2026.

These are the dates for the English-taught programmes. Charles here means the First Faculty of Medicine in Prague. Charles has other medical faculties, each with its own exam.

Month by month

• 1 November 2026: Palacký applications open. Masaryk's own online prep course goes on sale.
• By the end of 2026: Palacký posts its 2027 exam dates and places.
• 2 January 2027: Masaryk's online application opens.
• January to April 2027: Masaryk's exam window for non-EU applicants. May is possible in some cases.
• 30 January 2027: the first posted Masaryk exam date.
• By 15 February 2027: the Charles Dean sets the written-test limit for reaching the interviews. No number is published.
• 30 April 2027: Charles applications close.
• May 2027: the latest month Palacký advises for non-EU applicants.
• 24 to 28 May 2027: the Charles written test in Prague. Your invitation comes at least 20 days before.
• 7 to 11 June 2027: the Charles second chance in Prague.
• Within 30 days of the written test: the Charles online interviews.
• June and July 2027: Masaryk exams for EU citizens, by the faculty's rule. The last posted date is 5 July.
• 31 July 2027: Masaryk and Palacký applications close.
• 31 August 2027: Charles legalised documents are due, if the faculty assesses your foreign education.
• September 2027: Masaryk enrolment, the week before the autumn semester.

Masaryk University: apply through your representative

From the faculty's admission information and exam dates page:^[1][2]

• The online application is open from 2 January to 31 July 2027.
• It closes about two weeks before each exam.
• You apply only through the official representative for your country.
• Non-EU applicants sit from January to April, and in some cases May. A visa takes about three months.
• June and July exams are for EU citizens only, by the faculty's rule.

The faculty lists each date under the representative that runs it. The table shows the countries each listing covers:

Other representatives have posted no dates yet. No city is given for any date. Ask your representative where you sit.

One clash to ask about. The faculty's rule says June and July exams are for EU citizens only. Yet its dates page lists 4 June for the UK, Canada and the USA. It also lists 5 July for EU and UK passport holders. Ask your representative which dates you can take.

You may sit Masaryk only once per admission year. So give it the date when you are most ready. In some countries, an interview in English can be part of the exam. You see the decision in your online application, and the faculty gives no date for it. Enrolment is in September 2027.

Charles First Faculty: apply by 30 April 2027

From the university's admission criteria for 2027/28:^[3]

• Deadline: 30 April 2027. Last cycle it was 5 September 2026, so this is much earlier.
• Fee: your application counts only once the EUR 285 is paid.
• Written test in Prague: in the week of 24 to 28 May 2027. A second chance runs from 7 to 11 June 2027. The exact day is not published yet.
• Abroad: official partner agencies run the test abroad. The faculty will post their dates on its website by the day applications open.
• Invitation: through the university's system, at least 20 days before the test.
• Online interviews (MMI): within 30 days of the written test.
• Once a year: you may sit the exam once per academic year.

How 2026 ran: written tests ran from 7 January to 4 September 2026.^[4] They took place in cities from Tel Aviv, Dubai and Sydney to London, Toronto and Palma de Mallorca. Applications opened on 1 December 2025.^[5] The faculty's dates page drops dates once they pass, so check it early.

Palacký: applications open on 1 November 2026

From the faculty's General Medicine and admissions pages:^[6][7]

• Applications for a September 2027 start open on 1 November 2026. They close on 31 July 2027.
• Apply at least two weeks before your chosen exam, with all documents and the fee.
• The faculty will post the 2027 exam dates and places by the end of 2026.
• The admissions page says the exam is online.
• Not from the EU? The faculty strongly advises a date no later than May. A residence permit can take up to three months.
• You may sit once each academic year.

After the written test, you have an interview with the admissions board. For 2026/27, the faculty's notice board said you learn the result within one week of the interview.^[8]

Dates still to come

• Charles, when applications open: not announced yet. Last cycle, they opened on 1 December 2025. Based on that, they are expected to open around 1 December 2026. This is our estimate, not a faculty date.
• Charles, the exact Prague day and the dates abroad: not published yet. The dates abroad are due by the day applications open.
• Palacký, the exam dates: not announced yet. Last cycle, exam sessions ran from January to August 2026. Based on that, sessions are expected to run from January to August 2027. This is our estimate, not a faculty date.
• Masaryk, more dates and the cities: other representatives have posted no dates yet. Ask yours.

Not from the EU? Start from the visa

• Masaryk: a student visa takes about three months. That is why non-EU applicants sit from January to April.
• Palacký: a residence permit can take up to three months. So the faculty advises a date no later than May.
• Charles: Masaryk's admission information says a Czech student visa takes about three months. So ask the faculty or your agency which date still allows a September start.

Sitting more than one exam? Check the offer dates

You can apply to all three. Each is a separate faculty with its own exam. Plan the order with care:

• Masaryk gives no date for its decision.
• The Charles written test in Prague is in late May or early June, after most of Masaryk's posted dates. Its dates abroad are not out yet.
• Before you book, ask each school or representative how long an offer stays open.

One student on The Student Room wrote that their Masaryk offer expired before their Charles exam (thread, about 2022). That was an older cycle, so check this year's rules.
